Incoming Migrations

 

Halls Hosting provides complimentary website migration services for new customers transferring their websites from another hosting provider. This service is designed to ensure a seamless transition and minimise any disruption to the customer’s online presence.

 

Migration Inquiry

 

To start a migration, please click here to fill our Halls Hosting Migration Centre form. Halls Hosting will reply within one working day with a proposed migration date and time. However, this timeframe may be extended during peak periods or if technical issues arise.

 

Migration Features

 

Halls Hosting can transfer websites, emails, databases etc from web hosts that offer cPanel, Plesk or FTP access.

 

Migration Coverage

 

The migration service encompasses the transfer of website files, databases, and email mailboxes from your current host to Halls Hosting.

If you are migrating from cPanel, you can transfer your entire account from your current cPanel hosting provider, keeping all cPanel passwords, mailboxes, databases, and files intact.

Any sensitive data provided during the migration will be safeguarded in compliance with UK data protection laws

 

 

Backup

 

Halls Hosting is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from a migration. Customers are advised to back up their website data and files before initiating a migration request.

 

After Migration

 

After the migration, customers should review their content before cancelling any third-party hosting services. Halls Hosting is not liable for any data loss resulting from the termination of third-party hosting.

 

Technical Problems

 

Halls Hosting will make efforts to resolve any issues that arise during the migration, but cannot guarantee solutions. The target completion time for migrations is three working days, though this may be extended during busy periods or due to technical difficulties.

Halls Hosting will not troubleshoot technical issues with a customer’s website, scripts, or databases, regardless of whether the customer believes these issues are due to the migration. Halls Hosting aims to complete the migration within 1 working days, but customers should be aware that this timeframe may be extended during busy periods or due to unforeseen technical challenges.

 

DNS

 

If your DNS is not hosted with Halls Hosting, then it is solely the Customer’s responsibility to update your DNS records during the migration window.

 

Manual or Complex Migrations

 

If automated transfer tools are unsuccessful, FTP is unavailable, or the migration requires a complex or manual process, a standard migration fee will be charged. The fee for manual or complex migrations is £25 per website, applicable to each site needing a non-automated migration process.

 

External Migrations

 

Halls Hosting does not offer migration services for customers who are leaving. Customers must manage the migration of their websites independently if they decide to discontinue our services.

 

Changes

 

During the migration period, please refrain from making any changes to avoid potential data loss.

 

Sensitive Information

 

Halls Hosting will need sensitive information from you to complete your migration request. Please provide your username/email address and password. If you do not provide this information, we will have to reject your migration request. Rest assured, any sensitive data provided during the migration will be safeguarded in compliance with UK data protection laws.
